I knew Selena was not apologizing to me or Daniell.
She was just afraid of offending Sean.
I didn't want to stay here so I let her go.
The resort was closed during the final. The judges hadn't arrived yet, so apart from the staff, there were only finalists, Sean and Eric.
If Sean came to my room, I would have nowhere to escape.
I didn't go back to my room. I strolled around.
I had to say that the facilities of this resort were very good.
There were swimming pools, small golf courses, and places for circus performances.
But because there was no one, the circus was closed.
I strolled around and looked at my watch. It was over 10 o'clock. Sean wouldn't come to my room.
I went back. A few minutes ago, the sky was still full of stars, and suddenly it began to rain.
In a flash, it began to rain cats and dogs.
I rushed back, and when I was about to rush to the door of the room, I collided with a woman rushing out of the corner!
The woman hit his head on my elbow!
"Ah!"
The woman fell to the ground and his painful voice came from the rain.
"I'm sorry." I apologized and saw Linda, and I called to her, "Linda."
Linda looked up and saw me.
She didn't speak and wanted to leave.
I grabbed her. "It's raining so hard. My room is here. Come in to avoid the rain."
She turned to look at me. The rain was too heavy and the night was too dark so I couldn't see her expression. I only heard her say, "thank you."
It seemed that she agreed.
I went into the room with her.
I asked her to enter the bathroom first. I stood in the corner, wrapped in a towel, waiting.
I didn't go in for a bath until she came out.
The resort could accommodate two people in each room, so bathrobes and towels were all in sets.
When I finished bathing and came out in my bathrobe, Linda was sitting on the sofa beside me in her bathrobe. She saw me and said, "thank you. I'll leave when the rain stops."
"You are welcome. Don't worry."
I was polite.
Linda looked kind, but I found her a little cold.
It had been raining outside. I stood in front of the bed and watched the rain outside. Linda was sitting on the sofa.
The room was filled with embarrassment.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
I didn't think much and opened the door.
Sean stood at the door.
He had an umbrella in his hand. His hair stuck to his face. The rain fell down his hair. I looked down and saw that his trouser legs were wet.
I was stunned. I wanted to say something, but I thought Linda was in the room. I could only say, "what's up?"
"Who is it?"
Before Sean spoke, Linda got up and walked over.
She was stunned when she saw Sean, "President Jessop."
The awkward atmosphere became even more strange. Linda looked at us and said, "I'll leave first."
"Don't..."
It was raining hard outside. Linda would have a cold tomorrow if she went out like this.
Sean blocked the door and explained, "No. It's raining hard outside. I just want to see if she's back. I'm afraid she's still outside now."
He explained to Linda.
But my heart quivered.
Was he worried about me?
It seemed so.
"Then I should leave."
Linda seemed embarrassed.
Sean stopped her. "No. If you leave, she will blame me. I'm just afraid she'll get wet. Now I'm relieved."
With that, he disappeared into the rainy night with an umbrella.
I was a little distressed.
I stood at the door and thought of what he had just said. He seldom said so much. He seemed really afraid of my anger, so he could only explain it over and over again.
My mood was complicated.
I wanted him to stay but I couldn't.
Linda stood by and looked at me. She seemed a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I should have left just now. I'm disturbing you."
Her words made me realize that she was still here.
I shook my head. "No, we..."
What was my relationship with him?
I didn't know how to explain, so I closed the door.
I made two cups of tea.
I handed Linda a cup of tea. Linda looked at me and smiled and said, "actually we all know your relationship with President Jessop. We have been specially ordered before we came."
"What?"
"It's said that you and President Jessop are lovers. So those two male designers can't pursue you unless they want to be fired."
Linda always smiled when she spoke.
I was a little embarrassed. "No, he's just my brother-in-law."
Although I didn't want to admit it, it seemed to be an unchangeable fact.
"But he likes you." Linda sat on the sofa and looked at me quietly.
"No." I immediately denied it. I remembered Sean lied to me many times before. I looked down. "I used to think so, but I don't think so now."
"To be honest, President Jessop stood at the door and explained. If it's not just us in the resort, I really doubt it's President Jessop's twin brother."
Linda was joking.
Then she smiled.
I looked up at her.
Linda was very gentle at this time. As I thought about what to say, she got up and looked out of the window and said, "the rain has stopped. I'm going back. Thank you for your tea."
She put the tea in her hand on the table.
Before I could speak, she left.
I packed up and went to bed.
I lay in bed and kept thinking about Sean's panicky look when he stood at my door with an umbrella.
He seemed to really care about me.
I didn't know how long it took me to fall asleep.
When I woke up again, I felt dizzy and uncomfortable.
I realized that I had a fever.
When I wanted to drink and reached for the water glass at the head of the bed, it fell to the ground. I was a little desperate.
Now I was sick and dizzy. It was almost impossible for me to get up and pour myself a glass of water.
After struggling for a while, I fell asleep again.
My forehead suddenly felt cold!
I frowned and felt as if there was a cold towel on my forehead.
The next second, I felt a pair of warm lips against my mouth.
Then warm water was poured into my mouth.
