Another possibility is that Fiona is actually lying. Leo didn't say that to her at all. She makes it up!

But according to Leo's ambiguous attitude towards Fiona, Claire suddenly can't understand the situation.

Fiona is very pleased to see Claire hesitate. The woman does have an idea about Leo that she shouldn't have. She must be hesitating about the price now.

Fiona sneers and takes a $500000 check out of her bag and throws it in front of Claire. She quips, "I'll give you a million and a half dollars at most. I advise you to be wise. I have made the biggest concession!"

Claire looks at Fiona's check. She suddenly smiles eerily. "Miss Thomas, the money..."

"Claire, what are you doing?"

Before Claire finishes, she is suddenly interrupted by a low voice. Claire and Fiona look at the direction of the voice in shock at the same time. They accidentally see Leo with a dark face.

When Claire tries to explain, Fiona calls out, "Leo! You come back so soon!"

Claire is interrupted again. She glares discontentedly at Fiona but finds her pale with fright.

Leo ignores Fiona's startled expression. He looks coldly at the check in Claire's hand and asks, "what are you doing?"

Seeing Fiona's fear and Leo's anger, Claire thinks something interesting will happen today. She may be able to give back all the anger she gets today.

Claire can't help laughing in her heart. She takes back her outstretched hand. She waves the check to Leo and says simply, "as you can see."

"Do you know what you're doing?"

Claire's reaction stimulates Leo. Leo yells at Claire.

"Why are you so fierce?" Claire is puzzled. Her discontent is also aroused by Leo.

She is deliberately targeted by Leo today. She hasn't had a good rest all morning. Now when he sees Fiona giving her the check, he doesn't blame Fiona but yells at her!

Claire doesn't look back so she doesn't see the heartbreak and chill on Leo's face. She looks up and looks ahead. She doesn't let her feel aggrieved and shed tears. She takes a deep breath and says firmly, "yes, I won't do this job. You can go to whoever you like, and I won't play with you any more! You and your little lover can continue to love each other!"

Claire throws Leo's hand away.

Claire breaks free and strides out of the restaurant.

After Claire leaves, Leo stands cold. Fiona's mood changes from fear to confusion.

She stands up and walks to Leo and shakes his arm. She asks softly, "Leo, what's the matter with you?"

Leo coldly throws Fiona's hand away. He looks coldly at Fiona and asks, "why did you give her the money?"

Leo is really angry. Fiona feels anxious again. She bites her lower lip and hesitates for a moment. She says innocently, "Leo, you said you don't like the secretary. I see you are cold to her today. I think she doesn't want to quit so you are upset. I do it for you. I like you and don't want to see you upset, so I gave her money and let her leave you."

"Besides, she has promised to leave. Leo, don't be angry."

With that, Fiona takes a step closer to Leo and reaches out to hug Leo's arm again.
