Now the best portrayal of expression of Kate's mental state is baffling.

"I don't know what you're talking about at all." Kate doesn't expect Luke to misunderstand even such things. Is she such a violent and ruthless woman to Luke?

"I don't think the street racer people can take action without your orders and warn me not to approach you."

Luke's eyes makes Kate feel dazzling and makes her heart feel a little bit cold.

"Oh? You mean that I sent that man to attack you?" Kate put her head aside, but her tone is no longer as strong as before, and it sounds a bit like she did a bad thing.

"I can't think of any other explanation. Or you can call that man out, don't you take him away?" Luke looks around; there is no one but the two of them.

Kate shakes her head and says quietly, "Luke, then why I take him away instead of let him attack you, as you said."

Luke frowns, "I don't know then, shouldn't you explain it?"

Luke is not a completely unreasonable person. But he is a man after all, and reason controls his behavior.

Kate also wants to explain, but how to say this. How should she let Luke know that members of the street racer attacked him because of jealousy of her fancy for him?

Kate moves her lips. She really cannot tell, and doesn't want Luke to attack Duke after knowing the truth. After all, Duke does such stupid thing because of the admiration of her.

So the answer she leaves to Luke is just the roar of the engine.

Luke stands still, and the moonlight makes his figure even lonelier than before.

At this moment his mood is very complicated, from the beginning, guilt, doubt, impatience, anger, softness to expectation, and then to blankness.

Claire makes coffee for Luke after he enters the preparation room, and they seat on the sofa.

Luke sips his coffee with a smile, and jokes, "It's Mrs. President's coffee, and I must be so blessed to drink."

Claire doesn't show a smile at all, but says to Luke solemnly, "I want to ask you something, since you drank my coffee, you have to tell me the truth."

Luke shrugs his shoulder, because he has no secrets anyway.

Claire still says seriously, "You swear!"

"If I have any concealment, just let me strike by the thunder to death." Luke swears impatiently again.

Claire nods with satisfaction, and then asks directly, "What happened to you and Kate recently?"

She thinks Luke would be very dissatisfied with this question. But he just smiles slightly, then puts down the coffee and whispers, "I actually want to talk to you about this, otherwise why I swear so easily?"
