Instead, he said to her, “Go back home and take a rest.”

 He was driving her away.

Angie smiled and nodded. “I’ll go first, and I won’t disturb you.”

Just as she was about to turn around, Daniel added, “June Carter is my junior schoolmate in my university. You take more care of her.”

Angie stopped. She looked at me and said slowly, “Okay, you can rest assured.”

When they talked, I knew I was going to have a bad time next.

When Angie left, Daniell said he was taking me to dinner.

I promised and got into his car. I grabbed Daniell Cook’s hand which was about to turn the key and said, “Mr. Cook, I have a few words to say.”

Daniell seemed to realize what I was going to say and was trying to talk, but I raised my voice and said, “I got pregnant in prison. The baby was aborted.”

My words stopped what Daniell was going to say.

I looked at him and told him all about the pregnancy before I went to jail and the forced abortion.

Finally, she added, “I went to the hospital to have a check-up. The doctor said that my uterus was damaged and I could not conceive for the rest of my life.”

I lied to him about that.

After all, Daniell is so good that I don’t deserve him.

I think every men want to have their own children. He will certainly mind it.

At the time, I did see the hesitation in Daniell’s eyes.

 I thought I was right.

But I didn’t realize that he suddenly held me in his arms. “June, you’ve suffered so much in prison. I’m sorry. It’s my fault that won’t help you win the lawsuit.”

I was stunned in his arms.

“Mr. Cook, I said I couldn’t get pregnant.”

 “That’s all right. I don’t mind.”

What Daniell did was completely out of my expectation.

I broke out of his arms and looked at him without knowing what to say.

Daniell also realized that he had been pushing me too hard recently and offered to stop looking for me except for the weekend.

The next day I went to Jessop Family’s hotel, and Angie was talking to the hotel manager about some details when I entered.

When I arrived, she just let me contact Steven.

Steven is the head of the project engineering department.

I changed from an assistant designer to a waiter in the engineering department all day.

I wanted to find an opportunity to explain to Angie what happened yesterday, and I didn’t even see her.

Steven ordered lunch at noon. But when the meal arrived, I realized that they had not ordered my meal.

I had no choice but to go out for dinner at my own expense.

When I got back, Angie pointed at me and scolded, “June Carter, what did you do? You can’t do anything but start with the basics. Are you still lazy?”

She stood in the hall. In addition to the people who work here, there are people who live in hotels.

Everyone listened and looked at my embarrassment.

“I went to dinner.” I replied.

“Did you go to dinner? Others eat for twenty minutes, so you eat for an hour, right? Did the company invite you just to let you eat and sleep?”

Angie stood there with her hands wrapped around her chest and scolded me.

In fact, I had mistaken the engineering department for ordering meals for me before, which delayed the time.

I know Angie deliberately set me up. So I argued with her, “Angie. Mr. Cook doesn’t like you.
