LTD. You must promise me that you can never do bad things to Universe Design Co. LTD.”

I wanted to protect Daniell Cook’s company.

“Well, I promise you.” Sean Jessop nodded.

I was not sure, “President Jessop, I hope you can keep your promise. Last time you promised me but you secretly did something bad to Universe Design Co. LTD.”

Sean Jessop looked at me with a somber face. “I never broke my promise. After that, I didn’t do anything bad to Universe Design Co. LTD.”

“President Jessop knows in your heart whether you have done it or not.”

Now I couldn’t believe Sean Jessop.

But I had to believe him.

On the second day, I returned to Universe Design Co. LTD.

Daniell Cook welcomed me but others didn’t.

When I came out of Daniell Cook’s office and went back to my desk, a dead mouse lay there.

 Blood stained the table.

I used to put up with it. But now I decided to made progress and helped Daniell Cook instead of dragging him down.

I looked at the dead rat and took its tail and threw it into the garbage can.

Then I clapped my hands and said, “You all know I was in prison. But you don’t know why.”

My colleagues ignored me at the time but I knew they were listening carefully.

I said slowly, “I wanted to kill somebody but I didn’t succeed.”

When I said this, I saw all my colleagues’ hands stopped.

Someone took a sip of coffee.

The office was quiet and depressed.

I went on to say, “Of course there was a reason for that. I’m out now and I’ll get along well with you all.”

 Then I sat down.

 It was a quiet day.

It never happened again. But all my colleagues were far away from me.

Because of the last incident, I totally offended Angie. But now I understood the society. Now most of the company’s work was to design ordinary residential buildings.

I could basically do this kind of work.

So I was back as a designer.

I had appointments with several clients that afternoon. I communicated with them smoothly and succeeded in getting two clients.

Tomorrow I would go to the site to measure the size and make the effect map. Tonight was the last free time so I contacted Daisy Johnson. I wanted to pay her back.

It happened that she was in York.

We agreed to meet at the hot pot restaurant near the company at half past six.

When I finished my work in the evening, as soon as I stepped out of the office building, I saw Sean Jessop standing at the door and his car was not far away.

When he saw me, he went up to me and asked, “What do you want to eat?”

He asked naturally as if we were a loving couple.

He waited for me to finish work and then accompanied me to dinner.

People who work in this building passed by us. They looked at us with envy or jealousy.

But I understood why he did it.

I didn’t want to accept it.

I stood up straight and said to Sean Jessop, “President Jessop, you have a lot of work to do and you don’t need to be with me. Since I promised not to continue the investigation, I will keep my promise.”

After that, I showed a polite smile.

Sean Jessop looked at me with a dark face and a low voice. “Do you think I came to pick you up for dinner for this?”

 “Did President Jessop miss me?”

I tilted my head and looked at him with a funny expression.

 “How can it be?”

Sean Jessop immediately retorted, as if he had been seen through.

If it was someone else, I would think he really missed me.

 Only him.

 Impossible.

I glanced at my watch and it was 6:10. “President Jessop, I made an appointment with Daisy Johnson for dinner and I go first.”

When I finished, I wanted to go but I didn’t expect Sean Jessop to follow me and say, “I’ll give you a ride.”

“President Jessop, the restaurant is not far ahead. I don’t need you to give me a ride.”

I refused again and again, seemingly annoying Sean Jessop at last.

As I walking, I heard him say in the back, “Then you’ll never need me again.”

His words seemed to me to be in a temper.

 But I didn’t look back. I knew I didn’t need a husband who didn’t love me.

“June,” Daniell Cook caught up just after I took a few steps, “Where are you going? I’ll send you over.”

“I’m going to have dinner with Daisy Johnson. I walk there.”

I said the same thing to Daniell Cook.

Daniell Cook didn’t seem to mind. He laughed and said, “Really? I’m just going to buy a cup of coffee in that direction. Let’s go together.”

Of course I knew he lied to accompany me but I couldn’t find any reason to refuse.

I looked a little sideways and saw Sean Jessop’s car still parked on the side of the road.

 Did he see it?

My heart was in some confusion as if I had been caught doing something wrong.

I took a few more steps and stopped. I pointed to the car over there and told Daniell Cook the truth. I told him not to accompany me.

Daniell Cook didn’t mind but I insisted, “I’ll go myself.”

I refused again and again before he went back.

As soon as he left, I saw Sean Jessop’s car on the roadside start and leave.

I returned the money to Daisy Johnson at dinner.

After collecting the money, she ate and asked me, “What are you going to do? Are you going to let Molly Carter go?”

“I need to think about it.”

I couldn’t let Molly Carter go.

But I was afraid of Sean Jessop. I was afraid he would demolish the orphanage if he got angry.

Maybe I hurt Sean Jessop’s self-esteem. I hadn’t seen him for two months in a row.

It was getting cooler. What happened in prison led to my poor health. I was especially afraid of the cold. But even if I wore more, my hands and feet were cold.

Sunday was a rare day of rest.

I didn’t want to go out so I watched TV at home wrapped in a quilt.

“The Giant Group’s subsidiary recently held a conference with the newly joined Molly Studio. Molly Studio exhibited a new design for next spring…”

I was going to change channels but I heard the Giant group. I stopped.

Then Molly Carter appeared in the news.

She stood on the stage in a white dress and began to talk about her design ideas and elements.

She repeatedly emphasized that this set of design drawings was her first set of works completed independently.

Reporters praised her for her talent.

When the camera gave a close-up of the design, I was shocked!

I saw this design for the first time but I was so familiar with it.

I must have seen it somewhere!

“Say it.” Sean Jessop said.

“I’m going to work at Universe Design Co.
